Telespree Communications, a self-service solutions provider for wireless carriers, has announced that Hawaiian Telcom communications has deployed its over-the-air platform to automate wireless handset activation and streamline customer care processes.
With Telespree’s self-service technology, Hawaiian Telcom has designed a solution to allow subscribers to key in a PIN and automatically activate their device. The phone is shipped unprogrammed and a PIN is used to securely assign the subscriber’s account with the handset. The Telespree application connects to the carrier’s backend system, the device is programmed over-the-air, the phone number is presented to the customer and is then ready to use.
