IBM and Nokia have entered into a new deal. The computing giant will integrate Nokia’s wLAN products into its own and sell them on.
wLAN is about to explode. It will allow for Internet speeds up three times faster than the eagerly awaited 3G networks. Plans are in place to have wLAN access points all over the world. For example, BT recently announced plans to have 400 wLAN stations up and running by June 2003 in UK cafes, hotels and service stations.
The deal should help to boost Nokia’s flagging Networks division.
