Water treatment manufacturer Toray Membrane USA has implemented Infor ERP Visual at its new facility in Poway, California.
Toray said the facility needed an integrated ERP system to cover core operational activities such as planning and sourcing, and manufacturing and delivery, with management capabilities accessible through a built-in workflow system that would allow it to build and implement the controls it required. It said the system needed to be able to cope with over 4,000 manufacturers logging in to gain insight into the supply chain, and would also have to play an important part in improving compliance management and supporting lean initiatives.
The company said it selected Infor ERP Visual because of its business-specific functionality, which includes data management, order quote generation, and product traceability, and because it was able to help it manage regulatory compliance, improve customer service, and gain greater visibility into its operations.
It said Infor ERP Visual provides it with a comprehensive view of manufacturing processes. It said this means the company can define quality test plans and record the results for quality assurance to reduce production problems and increase overall product quality. It said it can trace underlying problems back to the originating action or transaction and then make adjustments before minor issues become major ones.
In addition, Membrane said the ERP system’s financial functionality has allowed the company to consolidate accounting activities, resulting in integration of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger data to strengthen internal controls and help it meet compliance requirements.
