Intel has launched 11 new processors for notebook computers. The new range includes the 2.2 GHz Mobile Intel Pentium 4 for mainstream notebooks, and the Mobile Intel Pentium III processor for the emerging Tablet PC market.
The Mobile Intel Pentium 4 processor – M family of mobile processors is aimed at full-size, thin-and-light and desktop-replacement notebooks.
The Mobile Intel Pentium III Processor – M is designed for smaller notebooks and will improve battery life. Intel also offers the Low Voltage and Ultra Low Voltage Mobile Intel Pentium III Processor – M, which are optimized for mini, sub-notebooks and Tablet PCs – the smallest systems offering extreme mobility. The Mobile Intel Pentium III Processors are aimed at the emerging Tablet PC market segment, as they provide the best balance of performance and low-power. Tablet PCs based on Intel mobile processors are expected to launch in Fall 2002.
