Ipanema Technologies, a provider of application traffic management systems for wide area networks, has introduced the new version of its Intelligent Acceleration solution, which helps enterprises achieve better quality of experience for their WAN business applications.
Intelligent Acceleration leverages Ipanema’s Autonomic Networking System, which provides a complete traffic management feature set on the market. It starts with Layer-7 classification of data flows, intelligently inspecting traffic to strictly differentiate between business critical and non-critical and recreational applications.
A combination of redundancy elimination, TCP acceleration and application acceleration mechanisms are dynamically applied under the control of global, optimization features.
Following the principles of autonomic networking systems, the mechanisms are triggered dynamically depending on the nature of the applications. The system automatically adapts these parameters in real-time based on a dynamic, global analysis of the traffic mix, user behavior and continuous tracking of WAN resources availability.
Ipanema claims that its autonomic networking system performs the complete range of application traffic management functions, including visibility, optimization and acceleration. This solution is used by large enterprises globally to turn their WANs into intelligent networks delivering quality user experience.
Intelligent Acceleration includes a new generation of algorithms that offer breakthrough response time improvements for business applications including SAP, Oracle, mail, file transfers, CIFS and the web. In addition to large pattern caching and other protocol acceleration techniques, a dedicated zero-delay processing path enables quality of experience improvements for interactive applications, including terminals and virtualized desktops. Real-time applications may also be both compressed and protected against jitter, delay and loss.
Intelligent Acceleration is transparent to IT and does not require any modification of server or desktop environments. It is compatible with security devices and supports asymmetric routes and redundant network architectures.
The company said that Intelligent Acceleration leverages its global application flow usage and quality monitoring and reporting system. It includes dedicated metrics, such as the accelerometer, a live acceleration indicator that calculates response time improvements for each application and site in real-time.
