Vodafone users in Ireland will be jumping with joy following the mobile giant’s decision to stop charging its users to access voicemail services. As of June 4, listening to messages will be completely free; previously, customers were forking out E0.10 per minute.
Although the company could lose an estimated E10 million under the new initiative, Vodafone believes that it encourages more communication in the long run between customers. It also expects to recover some losses when customer record personalized greeting on their phone.
The company decided to introduce the new scheme after it carried out research showing that it was customers’ most prolific request.
