Bankrupt communications services company KPNQwest is to enter into takeover talks with Dutch investment group Trimoteur. Current speculation suggests that the first round of talks involving company personnel, management and administrators took place on Saturday. Former employees of KPNQwest are currently maintaining KPNQwest’s European data network until a buyer can be found for the company and its assets.
KPNQwest’s suppliers have withdrawn previous threats to cut off services and are hoping that the company’s data network will be acquired and its service maintained. Administrators for the bankrupt company are expected to hold a meeting soon to discuss a re-start of the company.
