To offer customers complete Website lifecycle in the cloud
Software company Limelight Networks has acquired Clickability, a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) provider of Web content management (WCM) tools.
The news follows several other SaaS acquisitions in the last year, including EyeWonder and Delve Networks.
San Francisco-based Clickability was founded in 1999. It helps enterprise marketers and online publishers create, manage and publish content globally. It also tracks visitor experiences and implements branding and demand generation campaigns on a website.
Limelight Networks chairman and chief executive officer Jeff Lunsford said Clickability is a perfect complement to their Limelight Video Platform business.
Lunsford said, "With the addition of web content management, Limelight can now help customers capitalize on this important trend by handling the complete website lifecycle in the cloud, including publishing workflow, website hosting, site acceleration, video publishing, mobile and tablet distribution, and effective monetization utilizing closed-loop marketing."
"This acquisition expands Limelight’s total addressable market in cloud-based services by $1 billion, and the web content management segment is expected by Gartner to grow to $1.7 billion by 2014," added Lunsford.
Clickability offers three primary services: Web Content Management; Website Marketing Acceleration; and Website Express.
