Hexago, a provider of IPv6 deployment solutions, has teamed with Lockheed Martin, a manufacturer of advance technology systems, in a pilot program to help transition a part of Lockheed Martin’s global network to internet protocol version 6.
The pilot program will work through all phases of a full-scale Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) transition similar to one that a government agency would undertake. Hexago contributed the company’s flagship product, Gateway6, to the pilot program. Gateway6 provides secure and managed tunneling and translation as a complement to dual-stack when migrating to IPv6.
Bruce Sinclair, CEO of Hexago, said: The IPv6 transition pilot is comprised of a dynamic team of engineers and architects and leading industry partners collaborating to simulate a federal agency’s transition from IPv4 to IPv6. The IPv6 transition pilot will benefit federal agencies by solving the complexities of the transition through best industry practices’ in a realistic environment.
