Reuters has teamed up with Logica to supply live content, including images, using Multimedia Messaging Services. The service will debut at the CommunicAsia show in Singapore that runs until June 21, 2002.
The tech firm will be broadcasting live content from the soccer World Cup, including images from matches, video clips as well as commentary. At present there are over 200 members of staff covering the sporting event and the companies plan to bring comprehensive yet varied coverage that is most suitable for MMS.
Logica is planning to have the service deliverable to operators for distribution by August end. The service uses Reuter’s existing Internet Delivery Service and Logica’s messaging platform. Logica says it will continue to develop relationships with other content providers.
