LogicaCMG has agreed a deal to acquire the Norwegian division of Siemens Business Services, and plans to roll it into the Nordic services company WM-data AB that it bought last year for $1.7bn.
SBS AS has 250 employees providing outsourcing, infrastructure services, and systems integration to some 20 clients. It made full-year 2005 sales of around NOK 405m ($65m), and WM-data said that the move would make it one of the largest services vendors in Norway, where it competes with local players EDB Business Partner and Ementor.
Siemens has already trimmed the struggling SBS division through the sale of its product support business to Fujitsu Siemens last year, and restructured the operation last year by rolling it into a new division with its software development interests called Siemens IT Solutions and Services. Although it was rumored to be considering handing over the whole SBS business to Atos Origin last year, Siemens chief Klaus Kleinfeld said that SBS is not up for sale.
