Telecommunications equipment provider Marconi has said that it has signed an expanded agreement with Ericsson to provide DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) optical networking equipment. The expanded agreement will see Marconi provide its end-to-end optical network products for Ericsson’s global mobile and fixed multi service customers.
The agreement extends current cross company co-operation within the field of optical products, building on existing partnerships in SDH (Synchronous Digital Hierarchy) technology. Co-operation between the two companies began with the signing of a co-marketing agreement in 1995.
The financial details of the deal have not been publicly disclosed.
