Microsoft is to restructure and relocate its UltimateTV operations to its Redmond campus. The move will also see the business axe around one third of its 500 strong workforce. The UltimateTV service which offers TV-based digital video recording and web surfing, will still be available to customers.
Microsoft is to restructure its poorly-performing UltimateTV business. The move will see the business lose around one third of its 500 workers as it relocates to Microsoft’s Redmond campus.
A Microsoft spokesperson said that the re-organization would better align [UltimateTV] with our entertainment and television efforts. Up to 330 Ultimate TV staff will be re-allocated to MSN, Xbox and the Microsoft TV division in the move.
