Motorola has posted a record net loss of $2.3 billion for Q2. The loss means that the company has remained unprofitable for the last six consecutive quarters. As well as posting a record loss, Motorola also saw its revenues fall 11% to $6.7 billion.
The company’s financial results were heavily influenced by $3.4 billion in special charges relating to the restructuring of its computer chip manufacturing division. Excluding special items, Motorola recorded a profit of $48 million.
