The app uses analytics to provide discounts from local and national retail brands.
The Simply Rewards app, which is available to download from Android and iOS app stores, analyses past purchases to provide personalised offers to consumers
The app, enabled by Visa, also allows users to use the app to search for special offers based on their location and across a range of categories such as food, entertainment or travel.
It comes after research by Nationwide found that 83% of UK consumers said that discounts and vouchers influence where they shop, while 78% agreed that they influence what they buy.
Chris Rhodes, Nationwide’s executive director of Group Retail, said: "Not only does the app give our customers a wide range of discounts, from everyday favourites to exclusive offers, it also highlights the best offers based on how they are already spending their money.
"The next few months can be an expensive time for families with the half term holidays and Christmas fast approaching. With offers including money off weekly food shops, discounts on family days out, plus money off hotels, travel and holidays both in the UK and in Europe, we believe we will have offers to suit most people."
Nationwide partnered with Visa Europe to launch a digital wallet called V.me in the UK last year.
