Nexiant has secured a deal whereby John Deere’s Des Moines Works plant will use the company’s Smart Inventory Manager and Nexiant Secure point-of-use dispensing technologies to improve maintenance, repair and operations management plant-wide.
The Des Moines, Iowa, plant will replace its existing point-of-use (POU) system with Nexiant’s suite of inventory management technology. This technology combines software and hardware to provide enterprise-wide maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) management and reporting capabilities, improve control and access of MRO materials, increase productivity, and reduce administrative and inventory costs.
Furthermore, Nexiant Secure enforces corporate access control policies at the POU, combines carousel and locker modules to provide flexible configuration options for single-item dispensing and ensures that the right MRO materials are in the right place at the right time.
Nexiant solutions have already been implemented in three other John Deere plants, commented Frank Wright, manager of skilled trades at John Deere Des Moines Works. The other plants have seen as much as a 30% reduction in consumption of materials and have eliminated shortages. Those results made our decision an easy one – and we are confident we will achieve at least that same level of control and efficiency.
