Nokia Corp’s enterprise solutions business group has updated its Secure Access System SSL browser-based remote access technology with support for new languages and improved support for web-based applications.
Version 1.1 of the Espoo, Finland-based company’s remote access product provides secure socket layer-based access to corporate email and applications for mobile and remote partners and employees.
Reflecting the local requirements of global businesses, version 1.1 of Secure Access System offers the simultaneous support of multiple languages from a single gateway appliance. English, Japanese, German, French, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese are supported, with Korean and simplified and traditional Chinese due to be available in the first quarter of 2004.
The product also includes improved support for popular web-based applications such as IBM’s Lotus Notes, Microsoft’s Exchange, and Citrix Systems’ Nfuse Classic. According to Nokia, port-forwarding enhancements mean that an increased number of simultaneous users can now be connected to these applications via Secure Access System.
