COMPANY PRESS RELEASE: NXN Software, the leading supplier of Digital Production Management systems for the interactive entertainment, animation and new media industries and Electronic Arts have entered into an agreement where EA will use the NXN alienbrain DPM software to manage their game development projects at studios worldwide.
Over the course of several months, NXN alienbrain has proven through trials and tests that it possesses the maturity, strength and flexibility to handle the rigorous demands of our game development process, said Frank Russell, director of studio information systems, Electronic Arts. In fact, we’ve found that the comprehensive nature of NXN’s Digital Production Management system can enhance the overall management of today’s high-end productions.
Electronic Arts tested NXN alienbrain during the development of NHL 2002 and has implemented it completely for the production management of NHL 2003, as well as other titles. EA’s worldwide implementation of NXN alienbrain will provide development management continuity throughout EA’s internal studios, including EA Canada, EA Redwood Shores, Westwood Studios, EALA, Maxis and EA Tiburon. The NXN solution will also improve the collaboration of its global teams, increase project transparency for local and remote projects and help manage the extreme number of assets created during the course of EA’s multiple ongoing development projects. A portion of the NXN alienbrain seats will be used to support producers and the marketing department on the publishing side of EA’s business as well.
The deal with Electronic Arts marks another great milestone for NXN Software, said Gregor vom Scheidt, CEO, NXN Software. EA’s decision to run their projects on NXN alienbrain is outstanding proof of the acceptance and confidence game developers throughout the world are placing in our technology.
