Open source applications vendor Compiere Inc has announced that it has appointed a former senior vice president of Oracle Corp’s applications business as its new president and CEO.
The Santa Clara, California-based enterprise resource planning and customer relationship management start-up has appointed Don Klaiss as president and CEO, effective immediately, enabling the company’s founder, Jorg Janke, to focus on his role as CTO.
Klaiss is Compiere’s third new CEO in little over a year. Janke originally handed over the reigns to LaVonne Reimer in February last year but took over again just a few months later as she left to pursue other interests.
The company also boasts open source luminary Larry Augustin as a board member and Andre Boisvert, co-founder of open source business intelligence vendor Pentaho, as its chairman, and last year raised $6m in venture capital funding from New Enterprise Associates.
