Open Text Corp delivered on its promise to tighten up integration between its flagship Livelink enterprise content management platform and web content management software developed by RedDot Solutions AG.
New versions of RedDot’s CMS 7.5 and LiveServer products released this week allow Livelink content to be delivered to the web.
The integration was done by Open Text’s Web Solutions Group.
Open Text has also smoothed out integration with SAP AG’s Portal software that allows SAP’s TREX search module to include RedDot CMS managed content to be included as part of federated searches.
Other enhancements made to RedDot’s products include integration with Microsoft Corp’s SQL full text index search, a completely redesigned task monitoring interface that lets Livelink users view RedDot CMS workflows, and a new RedDot Web component development framework.
Last October Waterloo, Ontario-based Open Text unveiled a two-phase roadmap to integrate Oldenburg, Germany-based RedDot’s software which it inherited through the acquisition of Hummingbird earlier that month.
The integration announced this week completes phase one of that roadmap, providing RedDot users with the ability to access and publish Livelink content for their native web content management system and tap directly into Livelink’s broader content management and collaboration tools.
The second phase will provide deeper server-level integration, including enterprise clustering and content distribution as well as simplified server configurations across both the RedDot and Livelink environments.
