Mobile operator Orange has announced that it added 2.1 million customers in the first half of 2002. In the six months ending June 30, Orange added 802,000 new customers in its domestic market of France.
In the UK, Orange added 415,000 net new customers in the first half. Orange UK now has an active customer base of 12.8 million.
Orange, majority-owned by France Telecom, also improved its turnover by 13.8% to E8.1 billion. Group average customer revenues in the UK increased for the second consecutive quarter, while in France the rate of decline reduced.
