French mobile phone operator Orange has announced H1 results that show a 13.8% increase in total revenues to reach $7.84 billion. EBITDA is also up, growing 41% to $2.2 billion, while operating profit grew 52% to $2.21 billion.
The losses at MobilCom are not included in the group’s accounts, after Orange wrote down the book value of MobilCom to zero last year. However, Orange’s interests in Italy’s Wind and TA Orange in Thailand did result in losses of $200 million.
The results are Orange’s first ever net profit before exceptional items, after a minority interest charge of $65.8 million. It made a H1 profit of $221 million compared to a loss of $483 million in the same period last year.
