IPTV middleware and applications provider Orca Interactive has announced its entry into the US market and its first US customer win with WT Services, a owned subsidiary of the West Texas Rural Telephone Cooperative.
Orca will provide WT Services with integrated, carrier-grade IPTV services including live television broadcast, pay-per-view and video on demand (VOD).
WT Services’s advanced new IPTV services, powered by Orca’s RiGHTv middleware, also include caller ID over television, enabling WT Services’s triple play subscribers to conveniently identify incoming calls on their TV screens, and emergency alert system (EAS) notification for advance warnings and immediate, direct alerts about critical events in the region.
WT Services is expected to launch its new offerings in July 2007.
Orca also announced that it will be opening an office on the west coast in the US during the third quarter of 2007.
