US-based Packeteer has launched the IntelligenceCenter, a WAN management platform and application that enables customers to monitor, enforce and optimize application performance with customizable reporting capabilities.
According to the company, the IntelligenceCente provides a Web 2.0-based interface, which comprises of console, reporting module and data collector and can centrally manage up to 2,500 PacketShaper, iShaper and iShared appliances concurrently.
The platform has a modular architecture with an application performance monitoring portal for centralized reporting and device management, extended application visibility for monitoring average and peak utilization, network efficiency and display network traffic and application performance.
Dave Cote, chief executive and president at Packeteer said: By unifying application SLAs, performance monitoring and reporting, and device management into a single dashboard that is easy to use and navigate, we’re giving administrators unprecedented network visibility and control.
The new console is available for free, while the reporting module and the data collector are priced based on the number of devices managed and the rate of application flows supported, respectively.
Juniper Networks, Packeteer’s rival launched a similar product, the WX central management system software, which centrally manages, monitors, and configures its application acceleration platforms distributed throughout an enterprise.
