PepsiCo, one of the world’s leading soft drinks companies, has launched a promotion which will allow a consumer to design the look of one of its cans. The winning design will be featured on 500 million Pepsi cans across the country.
The promotion, called Design Our Pepsi Can, also offers a $10,000 prize to the person who submits the winning design. Consumers need to register, and will then have the option of using their own design programs or the tools available on the company’s website to develop their ideas. Pepsi said the top designs, as determined by a panel at Pepsi, will be posted on the website, where consumers will then vote for the winner.
In addition, Pepsi said that some celebrities have designed a Pepsi can. The All-American Rejects, Big & Rich and Pharrell Williams have each created unique designs for the Pepsi can, that will be on market in the upcoming months.
Pepsi said the promotions are part of it’s global brand restyle. The Pepsi globe logo and name lettering remain the same, but the background graphics change every few weeks.
