Planar Systems has unveiled a new family of high resolution grayscale displays, the Planar Dome Zx series, at the Radiological Society of North America. Planar will showcase the Dome Z16, a 16-mexapixel, 30-inch single grayscale diagnostic imaging display.
Intended for medical applications requiring precision and image quality, the new Dome Z16 delivers rich and detailed images available, on a single piece of true 10-bit high-resolution grayscale glass without the split-bezel of a standard dual monitor configuration.
Digital mammography screening workflow places strong demands on larger display real estate. The 30-inch display size and design of the Dome Z16 offers seamless side-by-side digital study comparisons, less panning and zooming, and flexibility for innovative interface design.
The company stated that Planar’s partnership with Nvidia, a provider of programmable graphics processor technologies has made the 10-bit interface between application and display system simple and intuitive with the additional advantage of using professional Nvidia Quadro series graphics cards.
