Sysco Corporation, North America’s largest foodservice company, has appointed Michael Wiedower as COO of Sysco Food Services.
Currently an executive vice president, Mr Wiedower will take on the additional duties on June 30, the beginning of Sysco’s next financial year.
Mr Wiedower joined the company as a marketing associate in 1983, and progressed up the corporate ladder to become senior vice president of sales in 1996. In 1998 he became senior vice president, followed by the promotion to his current role.
Last week, Sysco promoted Nino Barbon to president and COO of North Douglas Sysco Food Services, a subsidiary located in British Columbia, Canada. Armando Barbon, the unit’s current president and CEO, gained the additional responsibilities of chairman.
