Quest One Identity Solution augmented with Symlabs’ Virtual Directory Technology, Identity Intelligence
Quest Software has acquired Symlabs, a virtual directories and identity management services provider.
Quest expects the acquisition to further extend the Quest One Identity Solution by adding strong middleware technology capabilities.
The company said the addition of Symlabs virtual directory software will enable Quest products to easily consolidate identity data that is stored in the distributed environment.
Symlabs also brings additional federated identity capabilities that will broaden the single sign-on services to create a secure, trusted environment out of multiple systems in a single enterprise, or from systems across multiple enterprises, added the company.
Quest Software senior director of product management Jackson Shaw said Symlabs has a strong history of eliminating complex integration problems quickly and inexpensively, and its virtual directory technology makes it a great fit for Quest One and our approach to simplifying IAM for IT and the business.
Shaw said, "This investment, as well as the recent patents, availability of Quest One Identity Manager and continued investment in multifactor authentication, continues to drive the new wave of IAM for our current and future customers."
