Operating income was $5.4m
Quest Software has reported total net revenue of $188.2m for the first quarter of 2011, an increase of 9.9% compared to $171.2m for the same period last year.
Revenues from lincense and services grew year-over-year to $66.7m and $121.4m, respectively.
The company posted an operating income of $5.4m for the first quarter of 2011, compared to $23.8m for the same period last year.
For the first quarter ended 31 March 2011, the company posted net income of $3.6m, a decrease of 77% compared to a net income of $15.6m for the same quarter a year ago.
Net income per diluted share was down by 76.5% to $0.04 from $0.17 per share for year ago quarter.
Quest Software president and CEO Doug Garn said the company has strong aspirations for 2011 and the next few years, and is making key investments to attain its targets.
"The first quarter saw us make substantive progress with the opening of our Business Operations and Advanced Technology Centre in Cork, Ireland, the completion of the BakBone acquisition, and the continuation of our internal infrastructure and systems transformation, which is focused on incorporating key sales-enablement applications to support sales and the back-office," Garn said.
"With the recent introduction of our six offering areas and strong partnerships on a global basis, we remain committed to our on-going strategy of optimising efficiency and productivity for our customers."
