Initially for three months, rara.com will be charging 99p per month and then £4.99 per month in UK
Armed with a large songs repository and low-priced offerings, Rara.com is a new song-streaming service making its entry into the online music industry.
According to the service operating in 16 countries, existing services cater only to technology savvy music buffs who make up 20% of the market. It believes it can service those who have never used digital music services.
The, service, which went live in UK on Wednesday and across Europe, would target other countries, including Canada and Mexico, next week.
Initially for three months, rara.com will be charging 99p per month and then £4.99 per month afterwards. Mobile and web users would have to shell £1.99 for the first three months and £9.99 per month thereafter.
Rara chariman Rob Lewis said that they wanted something really easy to use. "We see it much more as a lean-back graphical user experience, with things like 3D animation and cover album art," Lewis added.
Lewis said the only mobile operating system to be currently supported would be Android. IOS and Windows Phone apps would come along in the "very near future."
