Enables developer to download, modify and use source code under a open source licence
Sage (UK), a provider of business management software and services, has launched Sage Labs, an online portal designed to enable its national developer community build add-ons and extensions for its mid market software, which include Sage 200 and Sage 1000.
The new platform enables developer partners to download, modify and use source code under a permissive open source licence, while improving user experience by encouraging the development of new and pioneering business management offerings that meet the diverse business needs.
The platform will also increase innovation and vibrancy in Sage’s developer community by showcasing how new and emerging technology can be used within Sage products, and by highlighting new or little known features of its products.
It enables solutions to user problems to be delivered more rapidly, and can deliver increased value to members of Sage’s developer programme by providing them with a unique service that will empower them to unlock new commercial opportunities, the company said.
The new offering is expected to provide a better understanding of developer and customer needs in order to deliver more powerful offering that uniquely meet changing customer demand.
Sage head of R&D for the mid market division Stuart Lynn said by feeding new and exciting offerings into their developer channel, Sage Labs encourages open standards and provides an outlet for inspiring our developer community to push the boundaries of innovation.
