Online clothing retailer ASOS.com has increased sales by 111% to GBP38.4 million in the year to March 31, 2007.
However, the comparative year was affected by the Buncefield fuel depot explosion in December 2005, which destroyed half of ASOS’ stock, limiting sales. The company believes that, without the impact of Buncefield, the company would still have recorded an 80% increase in sales.
In March 2007, ASOS.com recorded over 2 million unique visitors to its website, its highest level to date. Sales over the four-week period, ending April 26, 2007, increased 102% over the same period of 2006.
Nick Robertson, chief executive, said We remain optimistic about the prospects of ASOS.com and early signs are that 2007/08 should be another strong year of growth for the company.
