COMPANY PRESS RELEASE: Samsung SDS, the $1B Korean IT software and services company and Sybase, a global leader in database and enterprise software announced during a meeting at the New York Stock Exchange today that they have signed a strategic partnership agreement to join in global marketing through cross bundle their products.
With the strategic partnership agreement, Sybase will integrate the Communications and Community modules of the Samsung SDS ACUBE Enterprise Knowledge Portal solution into Sybase EP, an enterprise portal solution. The Community module will provide the opportunity to create groups and communities for collaboration and information sharing use. The Communications module provides a secure messaging backbone solution.
The agreement also calls for Samsung SDS to add the Sybase EA Server, a scalable, and secure application server for e-portal and Internet solutions, in marketing its ACUBE Enterprise Knowledge Portal solution. The partnership is expected to greatly benefit both companies and their customers, as it capitalizes on Samsung SDS strengths in application software and Sybase¡¯s strengths in software infrastructure.
The partnership will also aid Samsung SDS in the global marketing with Sybase for its other core business software offerings. These include Bizentro, an ERP solution for small and medium sized enterprises and RECUBE, an intelligent database query and reporting tool. Additional products also include WiseVIEW, a multi-purpose file and image viewer and converter and KWave, an enterprise knowledge management system.
The combination of Sybase’s integration infrastructure with Samsung SDS application modules offers customers a broader range of world-class prepackaged software solutions. These include enterprise resource planning, knowledge management, partnership relationship management, workflow, communications and collaboration through enhanced worldwide distribution channels, said Billy Ho, senior vice president and general manager, e-Business Division, for Sybase. In addition, this partnership will allow our joint customers to implement mission critical e-Business solutions more quickly and reduce their time-to-market and overall operating costs.
