Shipped 48.9 million disk drives in Q2
Seagate Technology has reported net revenue of $2.71bn for the second quarter of fiscal 2011, as compared to $3.02bn for the same period last fiscal.
The company’s disk drive shipments were 48.9 million units, compared to 49.8 million units in the previous year quarter and 49.2 million units in the previous quarter.
Gross Margin as a percent of revenue was 19.5%.
The company posted an operating income of $206m for the quarter, a decrease of 64% compared to $578m for the same quarter last year.
For the second quarter ended 31 December 2010, the company posted a net income of $150m, or $0.31 per dilute share, as compared to a net income of $533m, or $1.03 per dilute share for Q2 FY10.
