Shipped 49 million disk drives in Q3
Seagate Technology has reported net revenue of $2.7bn for the third quarter of fiscal 2011, as compared to $3.1bn for the same period last fiscal.
The company’s disk drive shipments were 49 million units, compared to 48.9 million units in the same quarter previous year.
Gross Margin as a percent of revenue was 19.1%.
The company posted an operating income of $179m for the quarter, a decrease of 68% compared to $560m for the same quarter last year.
For the third quarter ended 1 April 2011, the company posted a net income of $93m, or $0.21 per dilute share, as compared to a net income of $518m, or $1.00 per dilute share for Q3 FY10.
For the nine months ended 1 April 2011, the company reported revenue of $8.1bn, gross margin of 19.7%, net income of $392m and diluted earnings per share of $0.83.
