Sheppard Pratt Health System, Maryland’s largest provider of behavioral health and special education services, has successfully activated Eclipsys’s Sunrise Clinical Manager.
Sheppard Pratt implemented the Sunrise Clinical Manager software to enhance patient safety and quality by eliminating paper-based orders and records.
The implementation means that Sheppard Pratt’s clinicians using Sunrise Clinical Manager’s Knowledge-Based computerized physician order entry system now have real-time access to actionable knowledge, with multiple levels of clinical decision support and expert levels of checking relative to changes in a patient’s condition.
By having 100% of its clinicians placing orders through the system, Sheppard Pratt can help improve care delivery while reducing the number of medication administration errors by eliminating handwritten and phoned-in orders.
As the pre-eminent regional resource in behavioral health, Sheppard Pratt is committed to state-of-the-art patient care, noted Steven Sharfstein, president and CEO of Sheppard Pratt. With Sunrise Clinical Manager, our clinicians finally have access to information technology that can help dramatically improve how we deliver care while also improving the patient experience.
The Eclipsys software will be remote hosted by the Eclipsys Technology Solutions Center in Mountain Lakes, New Jersey.
