Somerfield, the UK-based supermarket chain, has agreed a deal with Coinstar E-Payment, a provider of gift card services in the retail industry, to introduce its gift card program in stores throughout the country.
Coinstar E-Payment is an affiliate of Coinstar, providers of self-service kiosks enabling customers to convert loose change into vouchers redeemable for cash.
The aim of the partnership is to enable consumers to select from a range of dining, clothing, entertainment, books, tableware, accessories, home and service cards from regional, national, high profile brands and online retailers.
Mohit Davar, managing director of Coinstar E-Payments Services, said: We are excited about this deal with Somerfield, which marks a significant step for Coinstar’s Gift Card Program.
The company said that the program will store the popular gift cards at one location and provide the retailer hosting the program an opportunity to generate additional customer traffic, sales and profits.
The program has been provided with inventory control, management of card sourcing, display design and merchandising and technology integration, which can be used at point-of-sale. According to the designers, the program offers an interactive interface for shoppers who buy gifts for their friends and family.
