Ericsson will provide T-Mobile with multimedia messaging and services equipment. T-Mobile will introduce MMS services on June 1 in the UK. There are also pipeline plans for the launch of MMS services in Germany and Austria.
The service will enable T-Mobile’s customers to send and receive picture, video and audio messages via MMS handsets such as the Sony Ericsson T68i. The system will be available on GPRS and 3G networks.
Ericsson has previously won contracts with Deutsche Telekom, parent to T-Mobile. Financial details of the latest venture were not released.
