Telelogic, a software solutions provider for enterprise lifecycle management has launched a new enterprise implementation solution by integrating the System Architect 11.0 enterprise architecture and modeling solution with the Telelogic Tau 4.0 development solution for enterprise IT development.
The integrated solution provides a model-based workflow that creates a bi-directional link between business and IT from enterprise architecture and business process analysis through the systems and software development lifecycle.
The solution supports the unified modeling language (UML 2.1), which ensures that the models developed in one environment can be accessed in the other, a common repository providing a structure for the collection and dissemination of information and improved analysis and development, Model collaboration allowing individual users to share models outside their domain, and web access.
Greg Sikes, executive vice president of modeling solutions product division at Telelogic said: This solution gives organizations access to best-in-class modeling technologies at each stage of their enterprise architecture, business process, and systems and software development lifecycle. Just as importantly, it offers the ability to hand off stable, tested business strategies to IT for implementation, and delivers complete traceability throughout the workflow.
He added SOA development and deployment is enabled through the integrated workflow of three distinct disciplines systems and software development, enterprise architecture and business process. This allows our customers to conceptualize their ideal enterprise environment and then implement it.
The integration of the System Architect and the Tau supports the extension of enterprise architecture and business process management through application analysis, design, development, and deployment. The IT teams can communicate design-specific information to business users while business users can use system architect to ensure that business processes and goals are part of the development of systems and software. Tau users can also gain access to system architect´s feature set, including advanced analysis and visualization.
In August 2007, Metastorm, a provider of business process management (BPM) software acquired enterprise modeling solutions company Proforma to deliver an integrated enterprise software platform, which unifies business strategy and architecture, process analysis and optimization with system-centric process execution.
