Telia mobile aims to launch its commercial multimedia messaging service (MMS) across the Nordic region during the last half of this year. The plan has been announced despite the fact that Telia is yet to choose its MMS system provider.
The Swedish telecoms provider has been testing MMS with Nokia and Inpoc, a Nordic content provider. Telia is to launch the services on a common Nordic platform by delivering and controlling services from one location and across its international network.
Although the actual tariffs for MMS have yet to be determined, Telia will charge the message sender a sum according to the size of the file; the receiver will not be charged for the file.
