Tyler Technologies has signed a contract with the City of Richmond, California to provide its financial management software and related professional services, including hosting.
This five-year Application Service Provider (ASP) agreement, valued just over $3.3 million, includes a full suite of Tyler’s Munis financial and human resource applications. Tyler’s contract with the City of Richmond adds to a series of recent ASP agreements, including a $6.3 million ASP contract with the Fort Worth Independent School District in Texas.
The ASP model- providing access to software and data over a secure network-is a growing trend among government agencies. Known also as ‘software as a service,’ it leaves the complexities of software administration in the provider’s hands, allowing agencies to redirect information technology resources to other projects. As an ASP, Tyler allows agencies to reduce administration costs and complexity in their operations.
