The UK government has published a report investing mobile phone radiation shields. An independent scientific team wrote the report, after the Independent Expert Group on Mobile Phones recommended further research.
According to the team, mobile shields and devices that cover the handset’s antenna can significantly reduce the user’s exposure. However, the same accessories also reduce the handset’s performance.
Personal hands-free kits were found to be among the most effective methods for reducing radiation exposure to the head.
The report does not name the devices tested. One shield was found to have a significantly higher blocking capability that the other products. The authors claim that naming the manufacturers would give some a competitive advantage.
