UTV Internet, a provider of broadband, telephone and web services, has launched a new secure email service based on domain keys identified mail. This service is based on the Brandmail Solutions for email verification and branding, SbS2.0 Secure Branding System.
By using this service UTV Internet’s email client can identify legitimate email by placing the sender’s brand logo in the ‘From’ field of the Web mail client list view. UTV Internet email users can now see which emails are genuine before they click to open any individual email.
Jeremy Biggerstaff, managing director of UTV New Media, said Everybody knows that cybercrime and email spoofing is on the rise. But very few can tell you how to tell from the contents of an email if it is genuine or spoofed. Our email subscribers have become increasingly wary and unlikely to open and act on email. We’ve had to disable automatic image display and links, and that makes for a less satisfactory experience with email. Online safety and security should not be onerous and Brandmail Solutions’s DKIM-based secure email system is very intuitive and simple for the end user with no need for downloads or plug-ins.
