Software company Vasco Data Security has launched an ultra-portable client authentication device, the Digipass 270, targeted at the banking and e-commerce sectors.
The Digipass 270 uses the advanced encryption standard (AES) algorithm to calculate e-signatures and host authentication codes. The PIN-protected Digipass 270 is compatible with Vasco’s Vacman core authentication platform, which supports more than 50 different Vasco client authentication products.
Jan Valcke president and chief operating officer at Vasco said: We notice an increasing market demand for products that are easy to use, very portable, secure, customizable and affordable. Digipass 270 is the perfect answer to all above mentioned demands.
The Digipass 270’s dimensions are 70 mm x 45 mm x 2,85 mm, allowing for easy movement.
Vasco’s rival, Interlink Electronics, a provider of intuitive interface products and technologies has launched the first full color LCD signature capture device, the ePad LS, in September 2006. It was designed for the financial services industry to provide an interactive and secure signature process.
