Virgin Media has launched 4G data for the first time in the UK with zero rated messaging and LTE data rollover.
The company is offering customers free messaging on WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger, as part of the new 4G contracts.
Virgin Media’s 4G mobile phone tariffs start at just £6 per month for 300 minutes, unlimited texts and 300MB of data. The top end plan costs £25 for 5000 minutes, unlimited texts and 20GB of data.
The plans also offer data rollover, allowing customers to use the left over data at the end of each month in the next month.
A text message will be sent to users about when data was being rolled over. The company’s plans are also available as Freestyle contracts.
Virgin Media managing director of mobile Peter Kelly said: “By offering free messaging on WhatsApp and Messenger we’re making sure that Virgin Media customers never have to worry about messaging friends or family and if there’s data left over at the end of the month then we’ve got that covered too.
“With 4G our customers have a quicker way to browse, message, stream and play wherever they are.”
Virgin Media also released its financial earnings for the third quarter apparently showing a better performance adding a further 45,000 customers.
