Virgin Mobile is performing better in the UK than even it had expected. Earnings forecasts for Q1 2002 expected the company to make a loss. However, the company has instead reported earnings of GBP3.4 million.
Between January and March of this year, the company – a joint venture between Virgin Group and Deutsche Telekom’s T-Mobile unit – increased its customer base by 164,000 to reach a total of 1.6 million clients. It is expecting to reach the two million milestone by year end.
