Virgin Mobile is interested in buying Swedish Telco Telia’s mobile division, but has not yet submitted a bid. Telia’s mobile division has around 250,000 subscribers and is valued at around E100 million.
We are considering an offer, but that’s all at the moment, Virgin Mobile’s Director of Corporate Affairs Steven Day said on the sidelines of a news conference in London.
Telia is selling its mobile operations as part of its E7.5 billion takeover of Sonera. Other parties thought to be interested in Telia’s mobile division include Hutchison Whampoa, Jippii, and Finland’s second-largest telecom operator, Elisa Communications.
