Microsoft has announced plans to introduce Xbox Live, its online gaming service for Xbox users. Xbox Live is to be introduced, this fall, in North America, Japan, and Europe. The package, which costs $49.95 in the US, will include one year’s subscription, a headset, and a game. European prices are yet to be announced.
The new service will also enable users to talk to friends across the broadband network using the headset. When the service launches, Unreal Championship, Phantasy Star Online, NFL Fever, Whacked, and Midtown Madness 3 will all be playable online.
Microsoft’ has also announced it plans to invest a further $2 billion in the Xbox and Xbox Live service.
