To expand Managed Print Services portfolio
Xerox has acquired NewField IT, a UK-based print consultancy and software offering provider, to expand its managed print services (MPS) portfolio that serves workplaces of any size.
NewField IT’s consulting and software services help companies implement MPS quickly by combining visual mapping with a database that tracks usage patterns of document devices. The feature allows workplaces of any size to monitor and manage the use of the devices and their overall print-related costs, said the company.
Under the terms of the agreement, NewField IT will operate as a wholly-owned Xerox subsidiary while its co-founders Robert Newry and James Duckenfield will continue to jointly lead the company, with Newry reporting directly to Cronin.
Xerox global document outsourcing president Stephen Cronin said the NewField IT’s Asset DB is a user-friendly software, which speeds up some MPS implementations by up to four times.
"This will accelerate the return on the MPS investment for all our clients, helping boost business growth as they reinvest the costs savings into other areas of the business," Cronin said.
