Adobe Illustrator is graphic design software by Adobe.

Illustrator is the sister software to Adobe Photoshop. While Photoshop is targeted at digital photo manipulation and editing, Illustrator is suited to typesetting and logos, icons, sketches and complex illustrations.

Illustrator was first developed for the Apple Macintosh, with the vector graphics editor first being released in 1987. Twenty versions of the program have since been released.

Today, Illustrator is part of Adobe’s Creative Cloud and is offered as part of three subscription plans.
